Downtown Punta Gorda’s Herald Court Centre is fully leased

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – It’s taken a decade, but now for the first time ever, Herald Court Centre is fully leased.

The building sits in Downtown Punta Gorda across from the county’s courthouse, originally built in 2009 as a parking garage for visitors.
“It was literally a shell. And over the years that’s been built out by lease-holders,” said the City’s Communication Manager Melissa Reichert.

Now, in addition to 400 parking spaces, Herald Court Centre offers 17,000 square feet of retail space on its first floor.

Philipp Pfaffli, owner of Pedelec, an electric bike shop, remembers how different the Centre used to be.

“In the beginning, there was not much activity around here,” said Pfaffli.

Now, with plenty of other shops to choose from, he hopes to see more foot traffic throughout downtown.

“I love to see it grow, to see more business,” Pfaffli said.
