(Punta Gorda, FL) – Businesses and residents in the City of Punta Gorda will not be paying more for their water, although all their neighbors outside the city are looking at higher bills.

According to local news reports, “turning on the faucet, watering the lawn, and yes, even flushing the toilet will cost you more in Charlotte County starting this spring,” reports the local NBC station.

But inside the City of Punta Gorda, and in the commercial areas serviced by the city, it is a different story.  The City of Punta Gorda has not raised utility rates in over two years. In fact, a rate hike that had been anticipated was scrapped by city officials because, according to the city, it wasn’t needed.
